Nurses celebrated

With just one patient in Cobar Hospital last Friday morning the nurses and ancillary staff got the rare chance to stop for morning tea to celebrate International Nurses Day. It was a milestone for Cobar nurse Irene Dunne who has been celebrating the day for 44 years. The event is marked annually worldwide on the anniversary of the birth of English nurse Florence Nightingale, who is credited as being the founder of modern nursing. International Nurses Day was established in 1974 by the International Council of Nurses and serves to highlight the important role that nurses fulfil in health care.
