Mining school meeting

Mayor Lilliane Brady, staff from the Deputy Premier’s Office, representatives from TAFE and the local mines discussed the potential of creating a local mining training school at a meeting in Cobar on Friday. Mayor Brady reports the meeting was “very positive” and said the plan had “great potential”. She said there was a lot of support and enthusiasm for the school to be located in Cobar which could service 15 mines in the area. She said with government funding available for the project she was keen to secure the facility.
