Local livestock producers were able to
attend a sheep reproduction workshop
organised by Western Local Land Services
at Nullogoola near Cobar last week.
Geoff Duddy from Sheep Solutions headed
up the workshop which had seven attendees.
Mr Duddy spoke about all aspects of the
sheep reproduction cycle and explained a
variety of methods that can be used to optimise
reproduction rates in pastoral sheep
flocks.
The workshop also covered the value of
scanning, discussed ewe management prior to
and during lambing and offered help to increase
lamb survival.
It also offered advice on how to breed more
resilient sheep as well as looking at condition
scoring and general nutrition requirements of
pregnant ewes.
