Junior Roosters keen to get back on the field after holidays

Rohan Bartlett had a big game on Saturday to collect the Under 10s Coach’s Award.

The Cobar Junior Roosters hosted Dubbo City and Wellington teams on Saturday for Round 10 of the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition.

With three senior rugby league games also being played on Saturday at the Roosters home ground, all of the juniors’ games were transferred to the Cobar Camels’ oval.

The Cobar Under 10s won their game on a forfeit from the Dubbo City Magpies who had only travelled with a team of four players.

The two clubs got together to make up two teams so the kids would be able to play. The Cobar Coach’s Awards went to Rohan Bartlett and Kai McKosker.

The Cobar Under 11s played a close game with their Dubbo City rivals and were narrowly beaten 18-24.

Reece Josephson led the scoring for his Roosters side with two tries and a goal.

Oisin McMullen contributed six points to Cobar’s tally with a try and a goal and Jed Budd also added two points with his successful conversion.

Maddie Bruce and Sam Dunne (stepping up from U10s for their first game with Under 11s) received the Coach’s Awards.

The Cobar Under 12s had a great 30-14 win over their Dubbo City opposition.

Clancy Harvey finished the match with a hat trick of tries, with Nathan Bartlett, Damon Bruce and Kai Taylor running in a try each.

Goals for Cobar were kicked by Nathan Bartlett, Damon Bruce, and Oisin McMullen.

Nate Roche and Charlie Crotty earned the Coach’s Awards.

The Under 14s game was a high scoring affair with 72 points scored in total in the match. Cobar was beaten by the visitors 18-54.

Tries for Cobar were scored by Reynold Mugugia, Elias Aumua and Riley Morley with Ryan Urquhart converting all three. Elias Aumua and Mohammad Faisal won the Coach’s Awards.

The Cobar Under 16s team was well beaten by their Wellington counterparts going down 52-0.

Raymond Dennis and Tyler Coughlan earned the Coach’s Awards.
