The Cobar Weekly Association Inc, the management committee that overseas The Cobar Weekly newspaper, recently held their annual general meeting.
Tahnee Andrew was returned as president with Brytt Moore stepping up into the vice president’s role.
Regan Kings retained the secretary’s role along with treasurer Briana Coffey.
Also returned to the general committee were long term committee members, Therese Hill, Stephen Dutton and David Snelson.
A new member, Sherrin Wharton, was elected to the general committee, to replace outgoing committee member, Lee Davey, who is leaving town.
In her 2024/2025 president’s report, Tahnee said it had been a great year all-round for the paper.
“We received some good grants this year, one of which has enabled us to buy new computers, and we also welcomed a new staff member, Georgia Palazzi,” Tahnee said.
“As always the team do a brilliant job with very little and make it into a lot.
“We always get great feedback about the paper from the community, which is what we’re here for and why we do it.”
Tahnee said she looks forward to the paper having another good year as it heads into its 40th year of production.
Following the meeting, a presentation by the committee was made to The Weekly’s long serving editor, Sharon Harland, in recognition of her 25 years service to the paper and the Cobar community.
