Interview savvy students

Members of the Cobar Business Association have been working with Cobar High School students to ensure they are work ready. Year 11 students were invited to apply for 'mock jobs’ and attend ‘mock interviews’ as a taste of what they can expect when they head out into the working world. Students were given information and tips about what to expect in an interview and were also shown how they could improve their resumes and letters of application to increase their chances of getting an interview. All of the students who participated in the project said it had been very worthwhile. Pictured are students Gabbi Lennon, Joana Awuku, Michelle Maidens (HR Officer from Cobar Shire Council), Sharon Harland (Cobar Business Association president), Megan Nicholson (the school’s careers advisor) and students Bryan Mitchell and Jennifer Awuku at mock interviews last week. ▪ Photo contributed
