Huge fundraising effort

Locals Simone Porter and Jodie Jones took part again this year in the Never Late
Fe-Mail Postie Ride to raise funds for Wings4Kidz. (They are pictured above with Ride organiser Garry Rogers and Wings4Kidz CEO Brendan Crane.) The group’s goal had been $200,000 (which was what they raised last year), however they exceeded that by 55 per cent with $310,238 being their final tally. All money goes directly to flying sick children to their specialist medical appointments. Simone and Jodie raised close to $11,000 as a team with $3,630.20 from the community and Return & Earn, $3,000 from Aurelia Peak Gold Mine, $1,000 from the Great Western Hotel and
other donations. The girls are still collecting cans and bottles to recycle and donate.
