The Late Mail Postie Bike Ride, supporting the Wings4Kids charity, passed through Cobar last Wednesday.

Riding Postie bikes, which have been described as “a lightweight that goes anywhere, does anything” the group of 55 riders this year travelled around the central western region with stops in Hargraves, Parkes, Condobolin, Cobar, Bourke, Lightning Ridge, Coonabarbran and finished in Mudgee.

The Late Mail ride was started with a few mates wanting to raise money for worthy charities and in their first year they raised $80,000 (their original goal had been $30,000).

Now six years into the ride the riders have raised over $800,000.

This year the group chose to support Wings4Kidz who provide free transport for kids from regional NSW to vital medical treatment, saving families time, money and the stress from being away from home.

While on their stopover in Cobar the group met up with local Jodie Jones whose family has been helped by the Wings4Kids charity
