The Cobar Bowling & Golf Club held their Sportsman’s Night on Friday at the club with representatives of men’s and women’s golf, bowls and the Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club in attendance.

Club president Jim Goonrey welcomed players and their partners to the end of year celebration and acknowledged the efforts of the club’s groundsmen and volunteers for their work on the golf course and bowling greens.

In this year’s lady golfers competition, Chrissy Gilligan was the A Grade Champion with Vivian Beehan the runner-up.

Sally Bannister was the A Grade Net winner with Angela Fryer the runner-up.

Robynne Morton finished as the B Grade Champion with Wan Sipatsa the runner-up.

Daphne Cross was the Net winner and Marlene Wynd was the runner-up. Karen Manns took out the C Grade title from Joy Josephson.

Janet Place and Janine Ryan were the Foursomes Champions; Sally Bannister and Geraldine Francisco won the Foursomes Scratch.

Sipatsa and Ev Hyde were the Net winners with Morton and Cross the runners-up.

Bannister was the winner of the Match Play competition and Sipatsa took out the Medal of Medals prize. Jannine Wilkin finished as the 2015 Vet Club Country Champion.

In this year’s men’s golf competition, the Captain’s Trophy was won by Luke Johnson and Garry Hay, both with a score of 262.

Alec Fraser was the Medal of Medals winner with Peter Brien the runner-up.

Greg Bowkett and Fay Hardwick won the Mixed Foursomes title with Max Phillips and Pam Sikora the runners-up.

Jacob Ryan was the A Grade Champion (as well as the CD Pretty Cup winner and NSW Sandgreens Championships winner).

Chris Gilbert was the A Grade runner-up.

Bian Smith won the B Grade title from Thinus Els with David Gordon the C Grade winner from Dale Dunkley.

Jay Egan and Gilbert were the Men’s Foursomes Champions with John Collins and Geoff Dunne the B Grade winners and Michael Zannes and Mark Stander won C Grade.

Bowkett won the Bill Bartlett Match Play trophy with John Martin the runner-up.

Hole in One prizes this season were handed out to Peter Brien (recorded on the 15th hole) and Jimmy Suroto (8th hole).
