Formal dining-in tradition continues for cadet unit

The Cobar 221 Army Cadet Unit held their formal dining-in night on Saturday at the Services Club which included the presentation of end of year awards.

Warrant Officer (WO) Class 2 Amara Bottom earned The Cartner Family Award for The Most Outstanding Senior Cadet for the Year.

SGT Riley Bottom received the Boucher Shield as the Most Senior Cadet for 2023.

Corporal (CPL) Maddie Chaplain was awarded the Boot Prize for the Most Outstanding Junior Cadet at Annual Camp.

CPL Chaplain also received the CMC Drill Award for the cadet with the highest achievement in drill throughout the year.

Sergeant (SGT) Malina Bottom collected the Attendance Award and was also the 2023 Cadet who excelled in Navigation.

Sergeant Reegan Traynor earned The Greenie Award for Leadership and Mateship (always helping a buddy).

Cadet (CDT) Cooper Vale took home the Encouragement Award for a cadet who shows potential in all areas.

CDT Eric Richardson earned the Junior Cadet Trained Soldier Award for displaying teamwork, courage and initiative right from his enrolment as a cadet. (This award is chosen by the previous recipient.)

Lance Corporal (LCPL) Ashley Cousins received the prize for the cadet who shows an ability to always be dressed neat and tidy and LCPL Harry Cousins earned the Never Ending Appetite award.
