Cobar Fire Station 256 Captain Brad Lennon was recently presented with one of the Commissioner’s 2015 Safety Awards.

Fire & Rescue New South Wales (FRNSW) Commissioner Greg Mullins said the Commissioner’s Safety Awards program recognises FRNSW workers who make an outstanding contribution to improving or promoting safety within the workplace.

“Our employees put their lives on the line every day so, as an organisation, safety has to underpin everything we do.

“We want to honour, encourage and promote the actions of those who make a special effort to make firefighters’ jobs safer,” Mr Mullins said.

Mr Lennon was presented with the Best Management of a Workplace Injury award for his dedicated efforts in ensuring Cobar firefighters were assisted and supported following the death of one of their colleagues, Daniel ‘Howie’ Howard, at a fire last year.
