Cobar says G’day to new citizens

Seven new Australian citizens were welcomed to Cobar last Thursday with the group
naturalised by Cobar Mayor Peter Abbott as part of this year’s Australia Day
celebrations. Andrew Mutubusi from Uganda, who has lived in Australia for the most
part of 13 years; Cathy Ackroyd from New Zealand (who’s been here for 34 years);
Jenifer Petalino Robinson (Philippines, 4.5 years); Sidra Faisal (Pakistan, 5 years);
Prairin Poonprasert Ormsby (Thailand, 7 years); Regina Mosup (Papua New Guinea,
9 years); and Liberty Sibanda (Zimbabwe, 6 years) all chose to make their Australian
citizenship pledge of commitment in Cobar on Australia Day.
