All aboard the PS Aaron

The Copper City Men’s Shed have created a pirate ship for Cobar Public School, which was delivered last Tuesday. The school’s P&C Committee raised money for materials for the ship and partnered with the Men’s Shed for the construction. The impressive new piece of play equipment has been named the PS Aaron (named after teacher Aaron Finn, in recognition of his work with special needs students). Men’s Shed members also created five new tables for the school which were funded by the Intermine Golf Challenge. These ‘Learning Centre’ tables have been placed in Gold Team classrooms to help with their learning activities. Pictured above are P&C president Joelle Deppeler and committee member Tammi Aitkin with Copper City Men’s Shed members Heinz Goldman, president Gordon Hill and Trevor Hicks. Mr Hill described the project as the biggest ever undertaken by the group, with the ship measuring over three metres long.
