
Cobar Lady Golfers have officially launched their 2026 competition season, marking an exciting start to the year on the fairways.
The weekend’s opening two rounds on Saturday and Sunday brought together a total of 22 members, all eager to return to competitive play after the holiday break.
A field of 10 players took to the course on Saturday for a Stableford event, and they certainly made the most of the good conditions with some great results recorded.
Glenda Peebles claimed the win with 35 points, with Faye Hardwick second with 33 points followed by Julie Livingston, (30) and Brenda Fugar on 29.
The Nearest the Pin winners on the 3rd hole were: A Grade – Sally Bannister, B Grade – Susan Goonrey and C Grade – Glenda Peebles.
Sunday’s competition had a field of 12 players which was a Par event, providing a different challenge for the field and producing another close contest.
Brenda Fugar finished as the winner with a square card with Karen Manns the runner-up on -1.
Julie Livingston was next best with -2 followed by Narelle Kriz (-4).
The Nearest the Pin winners on the 7th hole were: A Grade – Julie Livingston, B Grade – Karen Manns and C Grade – Glenda Peebles.
It was a wonderful start to the season, with great participation and competitive spirit on display.
The ladies are looking forward to another enjoyable and successful year ahead on the course.
