Two championship finals were played on the Golfie greens over the weekend, with Kyle Roberts emerging victorious in both the Pairs and Singles matches.
Roberts dominated his Singles Championship final, trouncing opponent Russell Brosi 25-3 on Sunday.
Roberts won the first two ends before Brosi claimed his first point on the third.
Roberts then held onto the mat for seven ends to take a 15-1 lead before Brosi got another look in.
Brosi claimed consecutive one-shot wins on the next two ends before Roberts regained control, winning the final seven ends to finish with a commanding 22-shot victory.
Sunday’s match was almost a repeat of Saturday’s Pairs final, in which Kyle Roberts and Don Roberts comfortably defeated Tony Polack and David ‘Ooze’ Knight 22-6.
After two ends, the scores were locked at one-all before the Roberts duo won the next seven ends to lead 13-1.
Polack and Knight picked up a shot on the 10th end before surrendering the next four ends to the Roberts pair.
A few late one-shot wins for Polack and Knight weren’t enough to close the gap, with the Roberts duo claiming a convincing 16-shot victory. The wins earned Kyle and Don the 2026 Pairs Championship title, while Kyle also claimed the 2026 Singles crown.
