Mexted makes a bid for Yabbies One Night Stand award

represented the Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club’s Sporting Bodies dinner on Saturday night.

Dave Mexted made a bid for the Setts One Night Stand award last Tuesday at the Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club event.

Mexted finished the night with a tally of just 0.51 seconds off his nominated times in three events.

Mexted won the 100m event with the best time of the night, 0.03 seconds off his nominated time.

Mexted then clocked in 4th in the 50m swim with 0.11 seconds off his time, and while he was 9th in the 30m event, he still had a pretty good result with 0.37 seconds off his time.

Murray Harland was just behind with a total of 0.67 seconds for the night and Tom Jones was also in the running with a tally of 0.89.

Jones finished as the runner-up in the 100m swim with 0.20 seconds off his time and Harland was third on 0.41.

Ben Plush was out in front in the 50m swim with 0.03 seconds off his nominated time.

Scott Toomey was just behind on 0.04 and Harland (0.10) was third again.

Bill Fugar won the 30m swim with a time of 0.07 seconds off his nominated time.

Jones was second (0.10) and Plush was third (0.13).

The Brace Relay novelty event was a tough one with Chris Powell and Andrew Allcock, on 2.28 seconds, the closest pair to their nominated time.

Harland and John Carswell (2.71) were second and Toomey and Mexted were third. (3.56).
