Cobar Mobile Children’s Service (CMCS) recorded a huge milestone last Thursday and threw a big Carnival-themed birthday party to celebrate their 42 years of service to the community.
CMCS’s president Corey Traynor said the service had grown over the past four decades from its humble beginnings as a playgroup and had “blossomed into a cornerstone of childhood education in our community”.
“Our team of passionate educators have worked to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We have witnessed countless young minds blossom under our guidance, and it brings us great joy to see the positive impact we have had on the lives of so many families in our community,” Mr Traynor said.
The service is funded by the Start Strong Pathways program which Mr Traynor said is “a testament to the NSW Government’s continuous commitment to Early Childhood Education”.
He said their town playgroups have not only offered fun and educational activities for children but have also been an important networking opportunity for parents.
Having a mobile Preschool meant they could take activities to children living in the bush and the opening of Ngalii Preschool in 2010 was an opportunity for them to offer their services to even more families.
Mr Traynor praised the work of the service’s long-serving educators Bridget Brookman and Tammy McKay, the Ngalii team and CMCS’s hard working committee.
