The Golfie Bowls Triples Tournament over the weekend attracted 24 teams from all over the state as well as inter-state with a team from Cunnamulla in Queensland facing off against a side from Blacktown in the final.

After a close start the Blacktown team raced away in the final to beat the Cunnamulla fellas 22-14.

The top eight played off for the final while the next 16 teams played the repechage.

A Blacktown side also won the repechage event winning their final game 18-15 over the team from Newcastle.

The best placed local team was that of Jono Davis, Justin Bartlett and Chris Rosanes who were knocked out of the final by the Blacktown team.

They played a Hillston side in the play off for 3rd and 4th place and finished 3rd.

In lady bowls news last week, a social game was played with Barbara Barklimore, Margaret Good and Marlene Wynd finishing as the winners of the day.
