Pony club welcomes new members

The Cobar Pony Club held their annual general meeting just before Christmas and welcomed new faces Tahnee Armstrong as the treasurer and Kylie Bishop as the stable manager to the club’s executive committee.

The club’s recent Registration Day was well supported with the return of many members.

Families of all interested riders are advised that children must be registered 14 days before they can attend a rally. (Please make sure your children are registered early otherwise it can be disappointing when children turn up to ride but find out they are not yet eligible.)

The committee has set a busy calendar for the year ahead.

The club offers the Come and Try Program for families who are interested trialling pony club for their children.

They can pay a fee to ride for one day which gives children the chance to find out what the club is all about.

New riders are welcome so come along with your horse and learn.

Riders looking to buy new helmets are advised that as of January 1, 2016 riding helmets with ASA number EN1384 have been withdrawn and helmets with VG1 are now required.

Any helmets that riders already have that are in good working order are still able to be used for events.—contributed
