Local Barry Knight (at left) was a finalist for Volunteer of the Year at the 2021/2022 Little Athletics NSW Awards dinner held at Ettalong on Saturday night. And while he didn’t win, Barry reckons he may have “conned” retired Australian sprinter, Melinda Gainsford-Taylor (also pictured above with Barry’s son Troy, who is the Cobar Little A’s Club president) into coming out to do some coaching in the western region.
