The Cobar Yabbies brought home the Jim Nixon Club Championship Shield from the annual Four Ways Swim at Gosford on the weekend.
The Cobar team of 18 swimmers claimed the overall points score trophy finishing the swim with a tally of 16 points, well ahead of their hosts Gosford on 11 points, Nelson Bay with eight points and Forbes on zero.
Scott ‘Socket’ Toomey filled in for club president John Carswell in the President’s Handicap event and won.
Yabbies finished first, second and third in the 100 metres handicapped freestyle swim with Cameron van Breugel taking first place with a time of 0.4 seconds off his nominated time, Andrew Watt was second (0.50) and Matt Harland finished third on 0.69.
Steve Howell grabbed third place in the 50m handicap event with 0.13 seconds off his time and Bill Fugar finished third in the 30m handicapped swim with 0.16 seconds off his time.
In the 50m Scratch race Lucas Hardy touched the wall in first place with van Breugel finishing third.
Cobar finished second in the prestigious 10 Man relay event behind Gosford who clocked in 1.94 seconds outside their nominated time.
Nelson Bay finished third and Forbes were 4th.
