Cobar Bowling & Golf Club weekend hosted two very successful competitions over the weekend with bowlers from Blacktown, The Rock, Bourke, Hillston, Dubbo and Adelaide in attendance. <\/b><\/p>\n
The weather gods were completely on side with glorious playing conditions throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n
A Triples Tournament was played on Saturday with teams drawn randomly from a pool of 48 players.<\/p>\n
The winners of the day were Ian Prendergast, Darryl Jermyn and Barry Boyton (The Rock) who were unbeaten on the day.<\/p>\n
Second place went to Norm Mackay (The Rock), Tony Polack and Allan Gardoll.<\/p>\n
Minor placings went to Darrell Rees (Hillston), Alec Fraser and Jason Howell who claimed the bragging rights over Micheal Sargent, Glenn \u2018Kiwi\u2019 Ratcliffe and Ken Waterhouse (The Rock).<\/p>\n
The consolation prize for \u2018the best of a bad bunch\u2019 went to Bian Smith, Bruce Shields (Hillston) and John Zeb (Dubbo).<\/p>\n
Sunday had a field of 72 players contesting the annual Presidents Day in what can only be described as an awesome event.<\/p>\n
The morning winners were Allan Gardoll, Greg Clark and David Schofield with +17 while The Rock combination of Norm Mackay, Ken Waterhouse and John Collins took out the afternoon section with a score of +24.<\/p>\n
The overall winners and grinners for the day were the local team of Alan Knight, David \u2019Ooze\u2019 Knight and Dean \u2018Bogger\u2019 McLeod with an overall score of +31.<\/p>\n
It was a truly great club effort, with a lot of help from volunteers, and all participants look forward to repeating this weekend in 2025.\u2014Completely biased<\/i><\/p>\n
