The Nymagee Progress Association will seek a meeting with Cobar Shire Council regarding the current state of the Nymagee town water supply.
The association’s publicity officer Jenny Nicholson said the matter was discussed at the group’s recent annual general meeting, where Dolly Betts was elected as the group’s new president.
“Although residents were notified of the current restrictions, no notice was received about the addition of bore water to the supply,” Mrs Nicholson said.
“Concerns were expressed about possible damage to household appliances but more importantly health related issues.
“Current dry conditions are bringing excessive numbers of kangaroos to water at the town supply,” Mrs Nicholson said.
“It was suggested delivering potable water into the overhead tanks may be a better solution.”
Mrs Betts acknowledged outgoing executive members Megan Nicholson and Des Hill for their many years of service to the Nymagee Progress Association and welcomed Di Roche as the group’s new secretary and Matthew Nicholson was returned as treasurer.
The group’s next meeting will be held next month at the Nymagee Hall.
