Cobar VIEW Club held their regular monthly luncheon meeting last Tuesday with a good attendance of 27 at the Empire Hotel.

The club continues to benefit from a further increase in membership numbers.

Guest speaker on the day was Emily Ham from the Cobar Library. The local library is one of the 368 public libraries in NSW.

Emily gave a very informative talk in her mention of the number of services available at the library including: free loans of books to members; DVDs; talking books; children’s art and craft sessions; exhibition space available, and a meeting room for the use of community groups.

Emily told members that library staff offer a help service each Thursday for using mobile phones, tablets and computers.

Computers, fax and printing services are also available at the library.

Some forthcoming events for the Cobar VIEW Club will be a fashion parade next month and the club’s birthday theme will be a Mad Hatters party celebration luncheon.

Members and their friends are asked to make a hat to wear for the occasion.

Shared birthday wishes for April went to president Margaret Potter as well as Jean Poulter and Kaye Saddler who all celebrated their birthdays on April 5. April birthday wishes were also extended to Glen Dunne.

The winner of the monthly raffle was Margaret Potter and the lucky door prize was won by Kaye Saddler.
