It was a perfect day for Rugby League on Saturday in Cobar with the Cobar Junior Rugby League Club hosting two games of the Dubbo & District competition.

The Cobar 15/16s team were narrowly beaten 24-22 in a nail biter of a game against the Nyngan Tigers.

With only three minutes left in the game, Cobar was ahead 22-18 but Nyngan bounced back and scored close to the posts and claimed a last minute 24-22 win.

Wyatt Proudlove, Josh Dimond and Michael Manns were outstanding for their Roosters side.

The Roosters Under 11s had one of their best games of the season against the Nyngan Tigers on Saturday and despite going down 62-16, they finished with their highest game score this year.

Kai Taylor ran in two tries for the Roosters and Reece Josephson was responsible for the other.

Tristan Bliss and Westin Collins kicked the conversions.

When it came to the Players’ Player vote, they gave it to the whole team.

The Cobar Under 13s had a bye.

This Saturday the players and their families are on the road and will travel to Dubbo to play Dubbo City in all three grades.
