The Services Club’s trivia night got really U.G.L.Y.

An U.G.L.Y. family: Cathy Manns (at centre) helped out her U.G.L.Y. Bartender daughters Jaymee and Bek with Friday night’s trivia fundraiser at the Services Club.

Bek and Jaymee Manns have volunteered themselves to be the Cobar Memorial Services Club’s U.G.L.Y (Understanding Generous Likeable You) Bartenders for 2018.

Each year, U.G.L.Y. Bartenders across Australia help to beat blood cancer by raising money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

The Leukaemia Foundation helps more than 750 families from regional and rural Australia by providing free accommodation in capital cities so they can access life-saving treatment.

The Manns girls organised a trivia night last Friday with the teams dressing ugly, listening to ugly music and raising money all in the name of U.G.L.Y.

With eight rounds of different types of trivia, from movies and animals to all about Cobar and random knowledge, all contenders were challenged in answering the questions.

Money ‘bribes’ to the hosts for answers were accepted as well as bribes to bring point scores up for their team or bring other team’s scores down.

With a lot of feisty bribes, points were rising and diving continuously throughout the night.

The scoreboard was all tied up waiting on the final round when a few massive bribes were accepted.

The winners with a huge $140 bribe were the team of Brianna Watson, Tim Hillam, Marty Turton, Jed Noonan, Tim and Peta Woods.

The night raised $700 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
