The Cobar Buffalo Lodge No 44 has donated $500 to the Copper City Men’s Shed in recognition of the support the shed members provided to a long term lodge member who recently passed away.

Men’s Shed Coordinator Gordon Hill said supporting others is part of what Men’s Sheds are all about.

“The Lodge member had a mobility issue which prevented him from getting about and staying in touch with friends.

“The Men’s Shed had a mobility scooter available that they were able to loan the Lodge member to enable him to do that,” Mr Hill said.

“The Men’s Shed committee is very appreciative of the donation from the Cobar Buffalo Lodge and the donated funds will be used to provide further amenities at the Shed for members and visitors.”

Mr Hill said there has been an ongoing amicable relationship between the Copper City Men’s Shed and the Lodge which commenced when the Lodge allowed the shed members to use their adjacent lodge room at Ward Oval as a meeting room while their shed extensions were underway.
