Cobar High School farewelled one of their teachers, Josh Brown, at the end of the school term last week.

Mr Brown will be taking on the role of Head Teacher of Secondary Studies at Peak Hill Central School next term.

Mr Brown originally came to Cobar High in Term 4, 2015 as a PE teacher before later re-training in mathematics.

Cobar High principal Shane Carter said Mr Brown will be missed.

“During his time here he has been heavily involved in many extra-curricular activities including coaching sporting teams, helping with school musicals and whatever else his fiancé [fellow teacher Alexandra Hernando] suggests,” Mr Carter said.

“Furthermore Mr Brown has done a great job in his role as Year Adviser for our current Year 10 students.”

During his four-plus years in Cobar, Mr Brown has represented Cobar in cricket, served as president of the Cobar Soccer Club and played in local mixed netball, indoor soccer teams, league tag and Squalleyball teams.

It’s expected Mr Brown will be a regular visitor to Cobar and will be returning often to see his fiancé.

The pair plan to marry next year.
