Dave Guirin was re-elected as president of the Cobar Swimming Club at their annual general meeting last Monday night.
Joining Guirin are new committee members Lee Davey (taking on the role of vice president) and Sharon Moore as treasurer.
Lauren Lamond returns as the club’s secretary with Tanya Hodges as race secretary, Rebecca Wyllie as registrar and Nikki Davey is their publicity officer.
Mrs Davey said there was a good turnout for the meeting with a number of new faces elected to the general committee.
“We are aiming to build a strong club spirit, and this includes some new club merchandise and family fun nights to be held in conjunction with our regular club nights.”
She said the Cobar club this season will aim to support their local neighbouring clubs of Bourke and Nyngan at their carnivals and encourage ‘Team Cobar’ to represent our town and club and have a fun day out together.
The club has plans to hold a ‘come and try’ night at the start of the 2019/2020 season so new families can go along and see what Swimming Club is all about before they commit to registering for the season.
