Essential Energy has recently completed a major streetlight maintenance program in the Cobar Shire Council area to help ensure the ongoing performance and reliability of local public lighting.
Regional manager Northern, Mark Summers, said Essential Energy’s bulk lamp replacement program was undertaken on a cyclical basis across each local government area as part of routine streetlight maintenance activities.
“During the maintenance works every standard streetlight was inspected, cleaned and tested and more than 680 lamps were replaced,” Mr Summers said.
He said Essential Energy relies on the community to report any streetlight faults.
“Given the important role that streetlights play in providing safe, secure and attractive public areas for both pedestrians and vehicles, it’s important that faults are reported immediately to ensure repairs can be completed as quickly as possible.
“The sooner faulty streetlights are reported, the sooner Essential Energy crews can make repairs,” Mr Summers said.
