Street parade signals start of Christmas

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, when the Cobar Business Association’s Street Parade signals that it’s almost Christmas time! Last Thursday’s parade was one of the biggest and best yet with much larger and more elaborate floats including Cobar Shire Council’s giant snowman that blew out fake snow, which won the Margaret’s Choice Best Float award. This year Santa arrived on a new mode of transport, ‘Mater’ the Dodge truck, and was followed by an array of colourful community and sporting groups. Many businesses opened for late night shopping, and there was also plenty of market stalls and a variety of children’s entertainment to keep everyone happy. See Page 17 and Page 30 for more photos from the night or go to www.cobarweekly to view photos in colour.
