Smash Ups have booked themselves a grand final berth in this week’s Senior Mixed Netball grand final after they accounted for Pumpettes in Friday night’s final at Ward Oval.
With a downfall of rain just before the match started, both teams initially struggled to handle the slippery ball which made for a close contest in the first half.
Smash Ups dominated the centre court play and were able to give their shooters Peta Woods and Mollie McAndrew, more opportunities at goal.
At half time, Smash Ups led by five goals but it was still anyone’s game.
Smash Ups seemed to find another gear in the third quarter and Woods and McAndrew combined well to outpoint Pumpettes 14-5.
By the fourth quarter it was a fait accompli and Smash Ups went on to finish with a confident 44-30 win.
Smash Ups will take on minor premiers Divas in this Friday’s grand final.
