Shooters maintain their good form

The were nine shooters in attendance for the Cobar Clay Target Club’s monthly shoot on Sunday.

Shooters participated in a three event program in warm, sunny conditions.

The opening event was a 20 Target Double Barrel with Robert Thompson finishing with the best score of 19/20.

Jarrod Barraclough shot 18 out of 20 targets with John Taylor and Ross Morriss both recording 17/20, Brad Kendrick had 14/20 and new junior shooter Aiden Barraclough finished with a score of 8/20.

Thompson tied with Dick Tulloh for the top score in the 25 Target Single Barrel event after both recorded scores of 22/25. Other scores from the event were: Jarrod Barraclough 21/25, Ross Morriss 20/25, James Manns 20/25, Brad Kendrick 17/25, John Taylor 12/25, John Polack 11/25 and Aiden Barraclough 7/25.

The final event was a 30 Target Handicap with James Manns finishing as the A Grade winner with a near perfect score of 29/30.

Kendrick and Thompson followed hot on his heels.

Despite having a long break from competition due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all competitors showed they have maintained their good skills and concentration ability during their time away from the sport.
