Local businessman Chris ‘Dido’ Deighton’s sheep sale fundraiser has raised $21,000 for the Macquarie Home Stay facility in Dubbo.

“That’s very good for not doing very much,” Dido modestly told The Cobar Weekly.

There was a great response from the community with landholders donating sheep, Chris Clark and Peter Miller helped out with yard space for drop offs, fuel for transport was donated by Mick Deppeler and Christie & Hood Livestock handled the sale.

Dido received 154 donated sheep from the region to sell at the Dubbo sheep sale on Monday alongside the 180 head  secured by Adrian Worrell from Baradine which brought in approximately another $30,000 for the appeal.

“I believe this puts the Worrell appeal to over $70,000 raised for the Home Stay,” Dido said.
