Sharks went on a feeding frenzy

There was plenty of action in the Juniors (9-12 years) Touch competition last Thursday at Ward Oval with a draw, a close encounter, a one-sided game and a a reasonably close match played for the double-header round.

The Round 2 and 3 games were combined into a double-header round which meant each side played two games.

In the early matches played for Round 2,  Blue Sharks had a feeding frenzy with Fanta beating them 10-0 while Red Rippers got the better of the Bananas to win 3-0.

A draw was played out in Round 3 between Blue Sharks and Red Rippers while Bananas won their Round 3 match up with Fanta 6-2.

Indie Burke, with three tries worth six points (as female tries are worth double) led the scoring for Blue Sharks in their win over Fanta.

Halle Deppeler, Jake Prendergast and Maddox Best were their other try scorers.

Indie, Ryhlee Nicholson (Fanta) and Bailey  Robinson (Blue Sharks) earned the referee’s Best & Fairest points.

Rosie George and Billy Williams were the point scorers for Red Rippers in their 3-0 win over Bananas.

Mia Watts (Red Rippers), Ollie Tranter (Bananas) and Jack Lowe (Red Rippers) shared B&F points.

In the Bananas’ win over Fanta, Jason Cleary Thou (2), Keelan Atuau (2) and Bria-June Brookman were their try scorers with Kasalia Fakahua responsible for Fanta’s two points with her try.

In their 1-all drawn game, Josh McMillan touched down for Blue Sharks’ try while Aisea Fakahua was Red Rippers’ scorer.
