The Rotary Club of Cobar handed out $6,000 worth of donations to local groups last week.

The Macquarie Home Stay, Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Cobar Weekly Association, Cobar Preschool, Cobar Mobile Children’s Services and Kubby House Childcare Centre were the recipients of the club’s annual donation program.

Club secretary Gordon Hill said the club has a “charity begins at home” policy and is keen to support local organisations.

“We appreciate the support of our local community in helping us to raise money through Return and Earn and our barbecues and so we want to put that money back into the community,” Mr Hill said.

He said the members of the Rotary Club of Cobar know of the good work that each of the recipient groups do in our community, some of which has come through first hand experience.
