The Cobar Roosters came out on top in their Christie and Hood Castlereagh Rugby League Round 6 game at Tom Knight Memorial Oval on Saturday.
The Roosters held a two point lead at half time, that being 18 to 16 but the Swans managed to get ahead after the resumption of play with a converted try.
The home side then gradually edged ahead as the game progressed and the Roosters claimed a 36-22 victory.
Lochlan Ford and Oisin McMullen both crossed twice for the Roosters with Tadgh McMullen and Reynold Mugugia also scoring a try each for Cobar.
Thomas Plater kicked all six conversions.
Saturday’s was an important win for Cobar that sees them with a share of the third rung on the competition ladder with Gulgong.
Coolah is still out on top with Coonabarabran in second place.
The Cobar Roosterettes put up a fight against the visiting Dunedoo Swanettes in their Castlereagh League Tag Round 6 match.
The home side however were beaten by the visitors 44-16 with the Swanettes’ Shelley Cox and Hayley Berg running riot to score three tries each.
For Cobar, Aisha Schofield, Brianna Watson and Taylah Good crossed for tries with Watson responsible for two conversions.
The loss sees the Roosterettes drop to 5th spot on the competition ladder.
