Trangie was no match for the in-form Cobar Roosterettes in their Round 17 Christie & Hood League Tag game on Saturday at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.
The Roosterettes finished as convincing
52-4 winners after leading 26-0 at half time.
The Trangie side arrived with just nine players on Saturday which allowed the Roosterettes, who had a full team along with two reserves on the bench, to run riot in the first half.
The Roosterettes quickly ran in five tries through Mel Singh, Jezebel Hitchins,
Steph Baker, Laura Ah-See and Brennah Aumua.
With their goal kicker Brianna Watson not available for Saturday’s game, Roosterettes coach Bianka Jacobson challenged her players to convert their own tries.
Singh, Hitchins and Ah-See all rose to the occasion and their kicks were successful and helped Cobar to a big 26-0 lead by the half time break.
As a courtesy to the Trangie visitors, Jacobson reduced her players on the field to just nine to match the visitors for the remainder of the game.
This allowed Trangie to get into the match and early after the re-start Samantha Hamilton skipped around two Roosterettes defenders to score out wide.
It was however the only points that Trangie would score in the match with the Roosterettes going back on the rampage to score five more second half tries.
Tyler Chiswick ran in two second half tries for Cobar, along with Madasan Taylor, Renee Aumua and Hitchins also crossed for her second try of the match.
Hitchins, Renee Aumua, and Naomi Whitehurst added more points to Cobar’s total with their successful conversions.
