Tag team had their first hit out in the Barwon Darling competition on Sunday at Bourke, getting off to a flying start with a 46-0 win over their Bourke hosts.
The Cobar Roosterettes dominated play from start to finish with Taylah Good crossing three times, Rachel Garland twice, Brianna Watson (2), Kaitlyn Byrne (2) and Rebekah Harris also scored after taking an intercept.
Conversions were kicked by Natalie Barnes (2) and Harris (1).
The Bourke side had a number of very quick players however they were let down by poor ball handling skills.
In other League Tag news, Cobar’s Lisa Travis and Zoë Harland joined the Group 11 women’s League Tag side on Saturday in Gilgandra to play the Group 10 and the Castlereagh Cup Representative Squad teams.
Both Cobar girls acquitted themselves well with Harland scoring a try in their narrow 18-14 loss against Group 10 while Travis, also in the match against Group 10, was caught short of the try line after taking an intercept.
Group 11 led for most of the match against their much more fancied Group 10 opposition with the score 14-0 after 10 minutes of play.
The Group 10 girls however regathered to eventually run out 18-14 winners.
Group 11 won their second match against the Castlereagh side 14-10.
The 2016 Western Division side was selected from players on the day with five Group 11 girls chosen for the team which was announced yesterday.
Travis and Harland unfortunately missed out on making the squad.
