Kyle Roberts is through to the semi finals of the Golfie’s bowls Singles Championships after his win on Saturday over Tony Polack.
Roberts won the match by +9 despite a late charge by Polack.
Roberts’ consistency finding his grass and length was too good and, for most of play, he maintained an average lead of seven shots.
Allan Knight and Greg Read are also through to the semi finals in the Pairs competition.
In their match on Sunday, they accounted for their opposition Greg Clark and Steve Manns by +14.
Knight/Read held a steady four shot advantage early in the game.
Clark/Manns did well to stay within what was a reasonable margin until, as the scorecard shows, the turning point from which their disadvantage could not be turned around was on the 15th end when Team Knight kept a tight hold on the mat for the next five ends.
A Triples Championship game was also decided on Sunday with Dean ‘Bogger’ McLeod, Michael Sargent and Barry Bargwanna finishing as massive +23 winners in their match against Tony Polack, Randall Hall and Karen Daly.
The first few ends were pretty even between the teams before a four shot winning end on the 7th end rattled Team Polack’s composure!
Team McLeod kept building their lead while Polack n Co got stuck on a score of four for six ends and then were stuck on eight points for the remainder of play!
