As part of this year’s Festival of the Miner’s Ghost activities the Cobar Dust Bowl Fuel Burners club held a Show n Shine and Cacklefest display.
This year’s event had 41 registered entrants and included a wide range of makes of cars and motorbikes.
The winners, receiving special trophies created by Mick Lehmann, were: Best historic vehicle before 1990 (sponsored by Cobar Bowling & Golf Club) was Steve Turton’s Ford Falcon; Best Ute before 1990 (sponsored by Peak Gold Mines) was Neil Driscoll’s HG Holden Ute; Best vehicle after 1990 (sponsored by AutoPro) was Paul ‘Snake’ Lawrence’s Holden Monaro; Best Ute after 1990 (sponsored by Peak Gold Mines) was Stuart Jeffery’s WB Holden One Tonner; Best bike (sponsored by Cobar Bowling & Golf Club) was Michelle Deppeler’s Honda; and the Best Feral vehicle (sponsored by Ay-Jays) was 50seven Automotive’s Off Road Buggy.
The People’s Choice winner (sponsored by 50seven Automotive) was Ken Dunne’s 1933 Rolls Royce.
The Cacklefest display got a few vehicles (and owners) all revved up as they showed off the noise, smoke and flames of their powerful engines.
