Pumpettes reign supreme in netball grand final thriller

Pumpettes have continued their domination of the Women’s Indoor Netball competition, taking out Monday night’s grand final at the Cobar Youth and Fitness Centre.

The thrilling match came right down to the wire with Pumpettes recording a 30-29 victory over Hot Shots.

Gaining the upper hand in the first quarter proved to be the difference as scores stayed close throughout the match.

Pumpettes went into the first break with a
7-3 lead, before Hot Shots closed up the deficit to just two goals by half time, down
16-14.

Scores were locked at 21-apiece at the end of the third quarter, setting up an exciting final quarter showdown to round out the competition.

The Pumpettes managed to hold on to their early lead to take the match by just one goal, 30-29.

Following the match, Pumpettes’ Hayley Walker was named Most Valuable Player of the Grand Final, while Hot Shots’ Sandie Mitchell was named Most Valuable Player of the season.
