Cobar PP Organisation has welcomed some fresh faces to its committee in 2016 to help plan this year’s major fundraising efforts.

The group of locals focuses on charity work for the Cobar community, raising funds to assist those who “find themselves in need of a helping hand”.

The group held its annual general meeting last week with Colby Lawrence elected as president, Stuart Wharton vice president, Jo-Louise Brown as treasurer and Jaymee Manns to take on the role of secretary.

Anita Hodgkinson will take on the role of publicity officer, while the general committee includes Luke Anderson, Sherrin Wharton, Brytt Moore, Chris marshall, Robert Brown, Cindy Freeman, Brad Lennon, Demi Smith and Vanessa Jansen.

The group, which has been carrying out fundraising activities in Cobar for more than 30 years, has held various events in the past including variety nights, trivia nights, singing bees and is involved with Seniors Week events.

Publicity officer Anita Hodgkinson said the group is calling for community assistance for this year’s proposed variety night.

“If anyone would like to become involved in any way, please feel free to contact anyone on the committee directly or via our Facebook page,” Ms Hodgkinson said.
