Pistol club’s facilities get an upgrade

Three handicaps were broken among the field of 13 shooters competing in the Cobar Amateur Pistol Club’s 25m Rapid fire event on Sunday.

Todd Manns officiated as Range officer and Tracey Lawrence was the scorer.

Zane Turner shot in two matches and broke his handicap twice.

In the first match he shot 409 off pistol and,  with his handicap of 306, finished with a total score of 715 (and earned himself a new handicap of 172).

In his second match, Turner shot 442 off pistol and, with his handicap of 172, finished with a total score of 617, along with a new handicap of 142.

Geoff Passfield also competed twice to record scores of 302-248-550 and 288-248-536.

Bradley Harrison broke his handicap of 263 when he shot 340 off pistol.

Harrison finished with a total score of 603 and earned himself a new handicap of 234.

The club has been carrying out some upgrade works and last week the floor of the outdoor presentation area was concreted with assistance from a donation by Aurelia Metals.

Over the past two years other improvements have been made and include an increase of the 25m bund wall, new targets for the 25m range, concreting of the 25m Shooters Gallery and entry with more projects planned for next year.—contributed
