There was plenty of golf during the week with players turning out for mid-week golf on Wednesday, the Cobar Annual Vet’s tournament on Friday, a three-man Ambrose on Saturday and the Monthly Medal event on Sunday.

The course is in excellent condition and good scores are starting to come in. No longer is a score of 38-39 going to win the day.

There were 30 players (ten teams), in “The Ding’s Day”, the P&R Lawrence Three-man-Ambrose on Saturday and, while the weather wasn’t as friendly as the day before, it was an enjoyable day with plenty of fun and laughter, as you would expect by something run by Peter ‘Ding’ Lawrence and wife Robyn.

The winner on the day with a score of 57 7/8, was Ding’s own team, that also included Peter Robinson and John Turner.

Second place went to Alec Fraser, Ian Prendergast and Paul Kershaw on 59, and in third place were Wayne ‘Tweet’ Josephson, Jarrod Marsden and Hamish McLeod with a score of 60 2/3.

Tweet is in hot form, having just returned from the Outback Challenge in Queensland where he honed his putting skills.

Nearest the Pin prizes were won by: Hamish McLeod (on the 3rd hole), Matt Russell (7th), John Collins (8th), Scott Mayne (11th) and Paul Kershaw (15th)…Full report in this weeks edition out now!
