Manuka Resources’ sonic drilling program has delivered a significant increase in resource confidence to support gold production at Mt Boppy Gold Mine at Canbelego.
The company reports the resource update supports Manuka’s strategy to install a purpose-built gold processing plant at Mt Boppy and recommence on-site gold production later this year.
The updated resource comprises 4.28Mt at 1.19g/t Au for 163koz of contained gold.
Manuka’s executive chairman Dennis Karp said importantly, the updated resource has seen a 100 per cent increase in the portion of contained gold ounces classified as Indicated.
“The Sonic Drilling Program was a critical precursor to the recommencement of the processing of rock dumps and dry tailings at Mt Boppy,” Mr Karp said.
Manuka recently announced their decision to transition to on-site processing which would reduce savings in ore haulage alone in the order of A$6-7 million per year.
