The old Cobar/Nyngan rivalries will need be put aside for the 2020 Western Plains Rugby Union season as the Cobar Camels team up to play with Nyngan Bulls in the competition this year.
Camels club president Jarrod Marsden announced last Wednesday the two clubs would be joining forces to contest the modified 2020 competition.
Marsden said in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Western Plains Rugby competition format for this season has been reduced to just six rounds plus finals.
“There will be three home and three away games for each team.
“Cobar will get one home game versus Walgett,” Marsden said.
This year’s competition has been reduced to just four teams with Bourke, Warren, Walgett and the Nyngan/Cobar teams only playing this year.
The competition is expected to get underway later this month.
