The Cobar & District Cricket 40 Overs senior competition recommenced on Saturday with the game played at Nymagee.
The home side was too strong for the Golf Club visitors, winning by six wickets.
Playing a big part in their win was Nymagee’s bowler, Mitch Holt, who ripped through the Golf Club batting line-up to take 6/29 off six overs.
Golf Club had won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing opener Craig Youd for just eight runs early, Golf Club’s captain Jacob Good and Josh Brown were then defiant at the crease.
While they didn’t rack up a big total, they however occupied the crease for some time, frustrating Nymagee’s opening bowlers.
A mix-up in the 16th over saw Brown run out for 25.
Good then fell in the last over before drinks for 22 and Golf Club went to the drinks break at 3/70.
Following the break, Holt came on to bowl for Nymagee and, by the 30th over, Golf Club was out for 109.
In reply, Nymagee surpassed the required total in the 21st over with Stephen Nicholson top scoring with 33 not out, Matt Nicholson contributed 27 and Matt Bolam added 11 to their winning total.—contributed
