Ngalii Preschool unveiled their plans for an exciting upgrade to their classroom and outdoor spaces at their Open Afternoon last week at the school.

Ngalii Preschool welcomed 10 prospective new families to have a look around the school on Thursday.

The service caters for children aged three to five years and operates five days a week during school terms.

Ngalii director Rebecca Howard was pleased with the interest they received from local families who wanted to know what the local preschool service provided.

“Most families were keen to find out how much it cost and were very surprised to find out that the service was free, including free hats and uniforms,” Rebecca said.

At the Open Afternoon families were able to have a look through the classroom and outdoor play area, at their vegetable garden and see first hand the equipment and resources they offer for preschoolers.

Rebecca said it was also an opportunity to show parents their plans for refurbishment work that will be carried out next year at the school.

The upgrade will give the preschool double their current classroom and outdoor space and also provide a new reception and office area adjacent to the classrooms.

“We spoke with parents about how our program is child-led based on a child’s interests and our hands-on learning style and the school garden.”

Rebecca said the event had been very successful and they are planning to hold another open day early next year prior to the start of school Term 1.
