The mercury hadn’t even reached five degrees when the Under 6s non-competitive game kicked off at 8.30am and the temperature had only just got to 11 degrees when the 16s finished their game just before 1pm.
The Cobar 14s side, who hosted the Narromine Jets juniors, finished strongly in their game to close the match out with a narrow 26-24 win.
Lachlan Brookman led the try scoring for Cobar with three tries with Will Oborn and Tate Sinclair also crossing for a try each.

The Coaches Award went to Takai Cantrell, who was once again recognised for his efforts after playing another cracker of a game.
Lachlan Brookman was named their Players’ Player.
In a tit-for-tat game with their Nyngan Tigers counterparts, the Cobar Roosters Under 16s were just beaten by two points, 24-22 in their Round 7 match.
Jaxon Burke and Aiden Swan both scored doubles for Cobar with Rowdy Barton responsible for two conversions and Tim Eves kicked another.
The Coaches Award went to Brayden Kreeck, who had an excellent game while the Players Player vote will be taken at training this week (due to several players leaving immediately after the match to get ready to play up with the Under 18s side).
Cobar’s Under 12s side made a strong start in their match on Saturday with the Nyngan visitors and were unlucky to finish on the wrong side of a 28-22 result in what was a see-sawing match throughout.
Eligh Ritter and Tommy George scored two tries each for the Roosters with Bria-June Brookman also crossing for a try.
Billy Watt kicked one conversion.
The Under 12s Coaches Award went to George Wainiqolo while the Subway Players’ Player Award was earned by Eligh Ritter.
